Prerequisite
The Anatomy & Medical Terminology (8 Week Course) is designed for students currently enrolled in a CPC or CPC-H course.

Orientation/Registration
Students must complete orientation/registration requirements in order to be considered an enrolled student. If a student is unable to attend the formal orientation/registration he/she must meet with their Instructor prior to the first day of class. Anatomy & Medical Terminology (8 Week) Course Description

Required Materials: "Medical Terminology for Insurance and Coding" By Moisio

Please note that this is a review course for those who have already have had basic anatomy, physiology and pathology. This course is for those already coding in the field.

This class will meet once a week and each week a new topic will be discussed. Each student will be required to be prepared by reading ahead, doing any assignments given and be willing to contribute to the class discussion.

Week 1 - Introductions and Outline of Course. Chapter 4: "The Integumentary System".

Week 2 - Chapter 5: "The Musculoskeletal System".

Week 3 - Chapter 6: "The Cardiovascular System" & Chapter 7: "Blood and Lymph".

Week 4 - Chapter 8: "The Respiratory System".

Week 5 - Chapter 9: "The Digestive System".

Week 6 - Chapter 10: "The Endocrine System".

Week 7 - Chapter 11: "The Genitourinary System" & Chapter 12: "The Female Reproductive System".

Week 8 - Chapter 13: "Nervous System, Eye, Ear".

This schedule can change and can be altered depending upon the needs of the students, and/or at the discretion of the school, Instructor or outside circumstances.

Class Size
The maximum number of students will be 20 per class. Class size is limited and is on a fist come, first served basis. Should there be a high demand for additional classes Advanced Coding Services will try to accommodate students by adding a class to schedule.
